News & Insights: May 2023

Hospitality could really benefit this month

Will this month be a bumper month for hospitality

May has always been a great month for the hospitality industry. With the arrival of spring, people are looking to soak up the sunshine and enjoy outdoor activities. This year, May is looking particularly promising for the industry with 3 bank holidays instead of the usual two. This means more days off work for people, giving them the opportunity to travel and explore new destinations.

In addition to the bank holidays, the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Liverpool, from 18th to 22nd May. This is a massive event in the European calendar and will attract visitors from around the world. Hotels, restaurants and bars in Liverpool can expect a surge in tourism and business during this period.

Another exciting event happening in May is the celebration of King Charles coronation. A series of events and activities will take place across London and Windsor castle to commemorate this historic event. The coronation celebrations will attract visitors from all over the world, providing a boost to the hospitality industry.

As the weather also starts to warm up in May, this is the perfect time for outdoor activities such as eating out, pub lunches, hiking, and exploring new cities. This presents a great opportunity for the hospitality industry to promote al fresco dining, rooftop bars and open-air events.

In conclusion, May is looking to be a great month for the hospitality industry. With the additional bank holiday, Eurovision, King Charles coronation and the arrival of warm weather, there is plenty of scope for businesses to boost their profits and expand their customer base. So, let’s welcome the month of May and enjoy all that it has to offer!
